Bocking Church Street Primary School

Friends of Bocking School

Registered charity no: 1127809

The Friends is a group of volunteer parents, carers and staff who meet on a regular basis to organise events to raise money for our school.

Over the past few years, the Friends have arranged various events for the school that have been extremely well-supported, not only by people attending but also by those organising and running the events with such a great team spirit - parents, carers and teachers alike.

Without the Friends these events would not happen and our fundraising has facilitated considerable benefits for the children, including Trim Trail on the school field, shade canopy outside swing field, reading circle, forest school bus trips and iPads, to name but a few.

We are always looking for new members; people to join us and bring a fresh face and new skills and ideas to the team. All parents and carers are warmly invited to attend our meetings, even if you are not a member of the Friends. You will get a good idea of who we are and what we do and, we hope, be encouraged to join. Volunteering is enriching, new friendships are formed – and it's good fun!

If you are interested in getting involved as a helper or full member, please email us friendsofbockingschool@hotmail.co.uk or join us on Facebook  and search: Friends of Bocking School.

How you can help
Parents and carers can help in many ways, from taking photos at an event, making tea/coffee on a refreshment stall, blowing up balloons, making a cake, decorating Santa’s grotto, sticking raffle tickets on tins/bottles for a tombola stall, wrapping presents for a lucky dip, asking your workplace to donate a raffle prize, sparing some time to run a stall, or even planting flowers, digging, weeding and tidying the wildlife garden.

Donations welcome
We cannot run without donations from parents and local companies. Over the years we have had tremendous support, which we greatly appreciate and we hope you will all continue to support us when we call.

Information of interest;
School Uniform
The Friends of Bocking are the suppliers of the school uniform. Please note that school uniform sales have now moved to online ordering only.  However, book bags and PE bags can still be purchased at the school. All orders should be given to Sarah Broome and cheques should be made payable to Friends of Bocking School.

Have you heard about easyfundraising?
If you already shop online with retailers such as Amazon, Argos, John Lewis, Comet, iTunes, eBay or HMV, sign up (for free) to raise money for the school and make savings for yourselves! There are over 2,000 retailers on this site, and some of the donations can be as much as 15% of your purchase!

How does it work?
You shop directly with the retailer, as you would normally, but if you sign up, for free, and use the links on the easyfundraising site to select the retailers, then a percentage of whatever you spend comes directly to us at no extra cost to yourself. How much can you raise? Examples: Spend £100 with M&S online or Amazon and you raise £2.50 for the school. £100 spent with WH Smith puts £2.00 in our pocket, and so on.

Save money too!
Easyfundraising is FREE to use, PLUS you'll get access to hundreds of exclusive discounts and voucher codes, so not only will you be helping us, you’ll be saving money yourself.
