Head Teacher's welcome

Welcome to
Bocking Church Street
Primary School

Dear Parents/Carers,

As the Head teacher, I am delighted to welcome you to Bocking Church Street Primary School. Thank you for your interest in our school.

Bocking Primary is a community school with eight classes. We currently have 209 children on roll from Reception to Year 6.

At Bocking, our school motto is ‘Learning, Growing , Achieving, Together’.  We encourage our children to be respectful, responsible, resilient, resourceful, reflective, ready, and remarkable: our 7 Keys to Success.

We are a school which prides itself on being inclusive: a place where all children are supported to reach their potential, both as learners and as developing individuals. Children take ownership of their learning and progress, and are guided by teachers to become independent and inquisitive learners within a very happy and safe environment.

We are very fortunate to have a well-resourced school, indoors and outdoors. We have a well-stocked library, a good selection of musical instruments, extensive technology including laptops and i-pads, and a modern hall used for assemblies, PE and other learning. Our outdoor environment includes a large playing field, a playground, a gym trail, outdoor learning area including fire pit area and a reflection/quiet area.

Bocking Primary is situated at the heart of the historic and thriving community of Bocking Church Street, on the outskirts of Braintree in Essex. As a community school, we are proud of the links we have with local bodies. These links are integral to our learning and we support our community whenever possible.

This is a snapshot of our school. I invite you come along and visit us and see the school in action. Please contact the main office to arrange a visit. Call 01376 322650 or send us an email

I look forward to meeting you.

Ms Debbie Tatlow
