Safeguarding Information

Bocking Primary School takes its roles and responsibilities regarding the safeguarding of children very seriously and works in close partnership with parents to do so. The school will take any reasonable action to ensure the welfare and safety of its pupils is maintained.

In cases where the school has reason to be concerned that a child may be subject to ill treatment, neglect or other forms of abuse, staff have a duty of care to follow the Essex Safeguarding Children Board procedures and inform Children’s Social Care of their concern. We also follow the Essex SET procedures for child protection.

The designated safeguarding leads are:
Mrs Cagney - Headteacher
Mrs Flack - Assistant Headteacher
Mrs Francis - SENCO
The designated safeguarding Governor is Mrs Katie Beard
The designated safeguarding Trustee for Attain Academy partnership is Mrs Marshal

If you are concerned about the welfare of any pupil in the school then please arrange an appointment to speak to one of the team responsible for child protection.

Online Safety

Keeping children safe online

The Internet is a great place for children to learn, have fun and be creative but they may sometimes have to deal with challenging situations.

All children at Bocking are taught online safety from Reception to Year 6, using a variety of curriculum resources. We aim to ensure that children are taught about keeping themselves safe whilst using a variety of technologies.

It is important that you, as parents and carers are aware of what children are doing online and understand the issues they can face when using the Internet, eg when downloading /uploading content, playing online games or social networking.

It is equally important that you have access to advice and practical, age-appropriate tips on how to protect your children and how to deal successfully and positively with issues, should they arise, encouraging an open and honest dialogue.
