Safeguarding Information
In cases where the school has reason to be concerned that a child may be subject to ill treatment, neglect or other forms of abuse, staff have a duty of care to follow the Essex Safeguarding Children Board procedures and inform Children’s Social Care of their concern. We also follow the Essex SET procedures for child protection.
Keeping children safe online
The Internet is a great place for children to learn, have fun and be creative but they may sometimes have to deal with challenging situations.
All children at Bocking are taught online safety from Reception to Year 6, using a variety of curriculum resources. We aim to ensure that children are taught about keeping themselves safe whilst using a variety of technologies.
It is important that you, as parents and carers are aware of what children are doing online and understand the issues they can face when using the Internet, eg when downloading /uploading content, playing online games or social networking.
It is equally important that you have access to advice and practical, age-appropriate tips on how to protect your children and how to deal successfully and positively with issues, should they arise, encouraging an open and honest dialogue.

CEOP (Child Exploitation & Online Protection Centre), is run by a command of the National Crime Agency.

Internet Matters offers lots of information and practical guidance for parents/carers, and teachers.
Kidsmart also offers support for children, parents/carers and teachers.
The Internet Watch Foundation works to protect children online and free the internet of sexual images of children. IWF is the UK hotline for reporting criminal online content.
